Here's what I've been up to lately:
And finally, here's my firstborn in his new Karate togs. You cannot imagine how excited he is about this. We're hoping it will help him in a lot of ways - concentration, for one, better physical awareness and control, and of course, being a little tougher would be good, too.

I've made two of these recently as baby gifts, and both were well-received. Both recipients are first-time moms. They thought this was a funny hat. HAH! Suckers!!!
Here's one for the foodees: it's an apple gallete I made (aka apple tart.) It's a recipe from Cook's Illustrated/America's Test Kitchen. I signed up for this thing where you test new recipes at home, then fill out a survey about it. It was pretty cool (and this thing was awesome.) Here's the link if you want to sign up:

Yes, that's my arm. No, I'm not caning him. ;-> He's demonstrating a blocking move. How 'bout that punching stance? I can't believe how grown-up he is. *sniff*
